Background
Mina Ostovari joined the School of Systems Science and Industrial Engineering at ßÙßÇÂþ» as an assistant professor in 2025. She earned her PhD in industrial engineering from Purdue University and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Virginia (UVA). Her research integrates data science, diverse health data sources (including mobile health, electronic health records and claims data), and systems modeling to advance personalized healthcare, improve health system performance and support data-informed decision-making in clinical practice.
Her work has been published in leading journals, such as JAMIA and PLOS One, and she received the 2025 UVA Rath Public Service–Focused Research Award. Beyond academia, Ostovari brings applied research experience from the healthcare industry, where she collaborated with clinicians on data-driven projects to improve healthcare delivery.
